In a recent conversation with our SCORE mentor, one theme stood out: visibility isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing the right things intentionally.
Here are three simple, high-impact shifts you can make immediately.
1. Be Strategic with LinkedIn Tagging
Posting on LinkedIn is good. Smart tagging is better.
When you reference:
An organization
A partner
A client (with permission)
A speaker
An event
Tag them intentionally.
This does two things:
Expands your post beyond your immediate network
Signals relevance to the right communities
Tagging isn’t about spraying mentions everywhere. It’s about connecting your message to ecosystems that already exist.
2. Fix What Comes Up When Someone Googles You
Before you create another post, Google your business name.
What shows up?
Is your website current?
Is your Google Business Profile updated?
Are your services clear?
Does your description reflect what you actually offer now?
Visibility starts with search. If someone hears you speak or sees you tagged in a post, their next move is Google. Make sure that search reinforces your credibility.
3. Focus on Affiliates, Associations & Sponsors
Instead of chasing cold leads, strengthen relationships inside established networks.
Think:
Professional associations
Chambers of commerce
Workforce programs
Sponsors aligned with your mission
These groups already have trust and audience. Aligning with them increases visibility faster than trying to build everything from scratch.
You don’t need more platforms.
You need stronger positioning within the right platform
